Secrets of Southern Laos

Days  1-3 Vientiane    
After flying overnight, explore the hidden charms of Vientiane on a city tour with a local guide. Day 4 Vientiane to Ban Kong Lor Journey south through spectacular scenery of limestone karsts, verdant forests and viridescent rice paddies to the small town of Ban Kong Lor.      

Day 5  Ban Kong Lor to Thakhek    
Board a longtail boat and voyage along the four miles underground river flowing through the awe-inspiring Kong Lor Cave. Continue to the sleepy town of Thakhek, home to picturesque colonial buildings.  

Day 6  Thakhek to Pakse      
Continue south to Pakse, stopping en route at That Ing Hang, one of the most revered temples in Laos and the charming town of Savannakhet.      

Day 7  Pakse to Champasak      
Today journey on to Champasak. On your way stop at the emerald hued hills of the Bolaven Plateau, visiting stunning cascading waterfalls, learning how Lao coffee is cultivated at a plantation. Swim in the refreshing waters of Tad Lo waterfall. Upon arrival in Chamapasak travel by boat to the delightful 3★+ La Folie Lodge.      

Day 8  Champasak      
Today visit Wat Phou, a beautiful pre-Angkorian temple that is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  

Day 9  Si Phan Don    
Spend a day exploring the enchanting area known as Si Phan Don or the 4,000 islands. Here the mighty Mekong is at its widest and dotted with thousands of small tranquil islands. Discover picturesque scenery and local villages by boat and bicycle. Finish your day at the impressive Lippi Falls.    

Day 10  Champasak      
Enjoy a day at leisure in this remarkable region.

Days 11-12  Transfer to Pakse and fly home
