Cycle through the paddy fields of Thailand before exploring the temples of Cambodia and reliving the history of Vietnam on this superb multi-country cycling tour.

Itinerary:

Day 1  Bangkok, Thailand
Arrive in Bangkok at any time and transfer to your hotel.  

Day 2  Bangkok to Ayutthaya
Transfer to Ayutthaya, the heart of Thailand’s ancient kingdom. Enjoy a warm up ride around the enormous temples of the old town and continue to Aranyik village to learn about local traditions.  

Day 3  Ayutthaya to Sa Keaw
Continue travelling through rural landscapes, including rubber and eucalyptus plantations, on this mostly flat route. When the roads get busier, drive the short distance to Sa Keaw.

Day 4  Sa Keaw to Aranyaprathet
Enjoy a quiet ride through remote villages. The area is known for rubber and eucalyptus plantations and will give you a taste for rural life in Thailand. Continue towards the Cambodian border.  

Day 5  Aranyaprathet to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Travel to Siem Reap. This afternoon cycle past Wat Athvea, a modern temple in the grounds of the ruins of an Angkorian temple.  

Days 6-7  Siem Reap
Explore the fascinating temple complex of Angkor including Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, the Bayon and Banteay Srei by bike and bus.

Day 8  Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
Travel by private bus to Phnom Penh and stop in the town of Skuon, known for its local delicacy of fried spiders.  

Day 9  Phnom Penh
Visit the Genocide Museum within a former Khmer Rouge prison. Learn about the infamous events that took place during the civil war before visiting the notorious Killing Fields.  

Day 10  Phnom Penh to Chau Doc, Vietnam
Transfer to the town of Takeo where the roads are quieter. Cycle the final section to the Vietnam border.  

Day 11  Chau Doc to Vinh Long
Cross the river at Long Xuyen, before getting back on the bike for a ride along lovely, quiet back roads lined with small villages towards Vinh Long and the Mekong Delta - where you’ll overnight  at a homestay on an island.  

Day 12  Vinh Long to Ho Chi  Minh City
Journey along the Mekong Delta, visiting a floating market and local cottage industries, before boarding the bus to the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City.  

Days 13-14  Ho Chi Minh City
Relax and explore this historic city. Perhaps take a stroll to Reunification Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral, or enjoy a short cyclo ride to the War Remnants Museum. Alternatively, take an optional tour to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, located two hours outside the city.
