Highlights of Jordan & Sharm El Sheikh Beach Break

Days 1-2  Amman  
Fly to Amman and transfer to your hotel. The next day, meet your guide and group in the afternoon and opt to go for a local meal together.

Day 3  Jerash and the Dead Sea  
Head out of Amman on a day trip to visit Jerash, one of the most well-preserved Roman sites outside of Italy. Discover its paved streets, soaring hilltop temples and city walls pierced by towers and gates. After, travel to the Dead Sea – famous for its unique mineral makeup and legendary healing qualities. Spot salt chunks drifting by like icebergs on the water’s surface and take a dip yourself, feeling yourself float like a buoy. Return to Amman in the evening.

Day 4  Amman to Petra  
Start the day with a visit to Mount Nebo, a historic site believed to be the location of Moses’ death and enjoy panoramic views from the summit. Continue to Madaba and learn about its role as the centre of early Christianity. See some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world before taking a walk through history on a guided tour of Karak Castle, the largest late-Islamic castle in Jordan. Arrive in Petra and enjoy an evening at leisure.

Day 5  Petra  
Rise early to visit iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site, Petra. Wind your way through the Siq, a narrow gorge flanked by soaring sandstone walls culminating in your first glimpse of the famed Treasury. Take in the astounding colours and patterns of the rock and explore the site in depth. Opt to return in the evening to see the Siq and Treasury illuminated by candles and brought to life by a live music show by nomadic Bedouins.

Day 6  Petra to Wadi Rum  
In the morning, perhaps visit Little Petra before setting out for Wadi Rum. Journey into the spectacular desert on a 4WD excursion, making stops along the way to explore, learn about the region and scramble up sand dunes. Reach the Bedouin camp in time for nightfall. Eat traditional food beneath the starry skies before staying overnight at the desert camp.

Day 7  Wadi Rum to Aqaba  
Head south to Aqaba where you will have free time to explore this Red Sea resort town. Opt to take a boat trip and snorkel in the crystal clear waters or perhaps enjoy a cooking class.

Day 8  Aqaba to Amman  
Today, make the journey back to Amman. En route, stop for a traditional Jordanian lunch at a G Adventures supported community café, Al Safi Kitchen and visit Safi Crafts, where you can observe the artisans at work.

Day 9  Amman to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt  
Say goodbye to your fellow travellers after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your short flight to the seaside resort of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, where the desert meets the Red Sea. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Days 10-12  Sharm El Sheikh  
Spend the next few days relaxing on the beach, taking advantage of excellent diving and snorkelling opportunities or unwinding at the spa.

Day 13  Fly home
