Itinerary
Fly from Muscat to Khasab, the main town on the Musandam Peninsula and transfer to your hotel. Tucked away in the northern tip of the Arabian Peninsula and cut off from the rest of Oman, the Musandam Peninsula is one of the least visited but most scenically spectacular areas of Oman. This remote region has plenty to offer with its dramatic fjords, rugged mountains, sweeping bays and quaint coastal villages.
Day 2 Khasab
Enjoy a morning tour of historic Khasab Fort, built by the Portuguese in the 17th Century and Wadi Tawi which is famed for its fascinating prehistoric cave paintings. Later, embark on a 4WD mountain adventure towards Jebel Harim, the highest mountain in Musandam (2,087m). Finish your day with a walk through the exotic Birkhat Khalidiya Park renowned for its beautiful acacia trees which remain green all year round.
Day 3 Dhow Cruise
Transfer to the port for a full day shared dhow cruise around the spectacular fjords of Musandam. Explore small fishing villages and visit Telegraph Island; an abandoned outpost of the British Empire which played a significant role in international communications in the 19th Century. Take a refreshing swim or snorkel in the clear blue waters before cruising back to Khasab – if you are lucky, you may spot a dolphin or two!
Day 4 Khasab to Muscat
The tour concludes this morning after breakfast with a transfer to the airport for your flight to Muscat.
