Itinerary
Transfer to your hotel located in the historic Back Bay neighbourhood where a welcome reception and dinner awaits.
Day 2 Boston to Cape Cod
Leave the city behind as you drive to your beachfront hotel in North Falmouth, stopping en route for a guided visit at the Heritage Museum & Gardens in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Enjoy lunch in the town of Sandwich, the oldest town on the Cape and settled in 1637. Continue on to North Falmouth and settle into your historic waterfront hotel.
Day 3 Cape Cod to Provincetown
Journey up the Atlantic coast on one of Cape Cod’s most picturesque routes to colourful Provincetown at the tip of the Cape. Once a major whaling centre, Provincetown is now known for its artists, beaches and as a summer resort. In the afternoon (weather permitting) enjoy one of the highlights of the trip, a guided whale-watching cruise.
Day 4 Provincetown to Martha’s Vineyard
Board a fast ferry this morning bound for the summer resort island of Nantucket, where a guided sightseeing drive around the island is followed by free time to explore as you wish. An afternoon ferry speeds you to Martha's Vineyard for a two-night stay at an iconic hotel in Edgartown. Dine at your leisure tonight at your hotel.
Day 5 Martha’s Vineyard
An orientation tour this morning introduces you to the towns that line the shores of Martha's Vineyard, from Victorian-inspired Oak Bluffs to Vineyard Haven where the ferries dock to the fishing village of Menemsha to West Tisbury, the island's agricultural center and Aquinnah, home to the Wampanoag Indian tribe and clay cliffs. Martha's Vineyard also includes the smaller adjacent Chappaquiddick.
Day 6 Martha’s Vineyard to Newport
Board a ferry bound for Woods Hole, Massachusetts, disembarking for lunch and a self-guided tour of the New Bedford Whaling Museum, recalling the town's heyday as a whaling port. Drive to Newport, Rhode Island, enjoying a guided sightseeing tour before free time to explore the sights. Your hotel is centrally located on the waterfront, an easy stroll from dining venues, shops and more.
Day 7 Newport
Start the day with a guided stroll along the Cliff Walk. One of Newport’s top attractions, this walk showcases the stunning Newport coastline and the famed, gilded mansions. Take a guided tour of The Breakers, one of Newport’s most palatial summer estates and a National Historic Landmark. Enjoy a delightful sight-seeing cruise of Newport harbour and Narragansett Bay before some free time to explore the town on your own. This evening, say farewell to your fellow travellers at a cocktail reception and dinner.
