Classic California Coast

Day 1  San Francisco  
Fly to San Francisco. With steep hills, a beautiful bay and charming cable cars, it is a captivating city.  

Days 2-3  San Francisco  
Over the next couple of days, explore the many varied neighbourhoods, including the largest Chinatown outside of Asia, and head up Coit Tower for panoramic views. Visit the infamous prison island of Alcatraz, and admire the views of Golden Gate Bridge.  

Day 4  San Francisco to Monterey  
Pick up your car and drive to the delightful Monterey Peninsula.  

Day 5  Monterey  
Visit the historic, waterfront street of Cannery Row, watch playful sea otters in the bay or perhaps go on an exciting whale watching tour. Drive along scenic 17-Mile Drive and explore quaint Carmel-by-the-Sea.  

Day 6  Monterey to Cambria  
Continue driving on Highway 1 where spectacular vistas await as this iconic road winds and hugs the breathtaking Big Sur coastline. Arrive in Cambria, a pretty hillside town set amidst pinewood forests.  

Day 7  Cambria to Paso Robles  
Head inland to the rolling hills of Paso Robles wine country and explore its many vineyards and wineries.  

Day 8  Paso Robles to Santa Barbara  
Return to the coast, passing through the creative town of San Luis Obispo and laidback Pismo Beach before heading onwards to Santa Barbara.  

Day 9  Santa Barbara  
This alluring coastal city boasts a stunning beach, picturesque red-tile roofs and a beautiful mountain backdrop. Visit the historic Spanish Mission and enjoy wining and dining along State Street.  

Day 10  Santa Barbara to Santa Monica
Next stop is Los Angeles and the affluent beachside neighbourhood of Santa Monica.

Day 11  Los Angeles  
Stroll along the Santa Monica Pier, take in the breathtaking views from Griffith Park Observatory, or visit the TCL Chinese Theatre. Alternatively, head inland to explore Hollywood and Beverly Hills.  

Day 12  Santa Monica to San Diego
Drive south to the atmospheric, waterfront city of San Diego.  

Days 13-14  San Diego  
Blessed with year round sunshine and numerous sandy beaches, San Diego is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the array of watersports on offer. Take in the city’s varied cultural attractions, from the museums of Balboa Park to the Mexican heritage of the Old Town.  

Days 15-16  Fly home  
Drive to the airport and drop off your car in time for your flight home.
