Itinerary
Arrive in vibrant San Francisco, home to the Golden Gate Bridge. Visit infamous Alcatraz, ride a historic cable car and head to the top of Coit Tower for panoramic views of the city.
Day 3 San Francisco to Mammoth Lakes
Pick up your car and make the scenic ascent to Mammoth Lakes in the Sierra Nevada mountains, famed for its stunning location.
Day 4 Mammoth Lakes
Explore the expansive valleys and incredible crystal clear mountain lakes of this region.
Day 5 Mammoth Lakes to Lake Tahoe
Head north to the jewel in this magnificent range where a glorious lakeside wilderness is dotted with lively towns.
Day 6 Lake Tahoe
Explore this spectacular area, hire a bike and traverse the many trails around the lake, or for the more adventurous try stand up paddleboarding.
Day 7 Lake Tahoe to Redding
En route to the quaint town of Redding, explore the remarkable Lassen Volcanic National Park to see its plopping mudpots and bubbling pools on the Bumpass Hell walking trail.
Day 8 Redding to Klamath Falls
Drive past mighty Mount Shasta and make a detour to Lava Beds National Monument to walk into ancient lava tubes. Continue on the charming town of Klamath Falls in Oregon.
Day 9 Crater Lake NP
Today head to spectacular Crater Lake and admire the views from scenic Rim Drive road.
Day 10 Klamath Falls to Crescent City
Heading south will bring you to the gateway of Redwood National Park.
Day 11 Redwood NP
Take a day to walk among the California redwoods: hauntingly beautiful giants of the natural world.
Day 12 Crescent City to Fort Bragg
Travel south on the scenic Redwood Highway and enjoy a peaceful stay in delightful Fort Bragg on the stunning Mendocino Coast.
Days 13-14 Fort Bragg to Napa
Continue onto the beautiful Napa Valley where gourmet food and fine wines await.
Day 15 Napa to San Francisco
It is a short drive back to San Francisco airport, ready for your flight home.
