About the villa

Perched on a hillside above Lake Trasimeno, Villa Fontanelle is a beautifully restored Umbrian farmhouse with panoramic views across the lake and surrounding countryside. Combining traditional stone architecture with elegant contemporary interiors, the villa offers a peaceful retreat in one of Umbria's most scenic locations, within easy reach of both Tuscany and the region's historic towns.

The villa is designed for relaxed indoor-outdoor living. At its heart, an open-plan kitchen and dining area create a sociable space for gathering over leisurely meals, while the comfortable sitting room provides a welcoming place to unwind. Accommodation is divided between the main house and a separate guest house, making it well suited to families or groups seeking a little extra privacy. The main villa features two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, while the guest house offers an additional double bedroom and bathroom.

Outside, the panoramic swimming pool takes centre stage, perfectly positioned to make the most of the far-reaching lake views. Landscaped terraces and outdoor seating areas provide idyllic spots for long lunches, sunset aperitifs and evenings spent admiring the changing colours across the water. For moments of complete relaxation, guests can retreat to the private wellness area, which includes a sauna and sensory shower.

Despite its tranquil countryside setting, restaurants, shops and watersports on Lake Trasimeno are just 2km away in Magione. Nearby San Feliciano offers ferry services to the islands of Polvese and Maggiore, while several excellent golf courses and the lakeside beaches of Castiglione del Lago are within easy reach, making Villa Fontanelle an ideal base for exploring the best of Umbria.
