A Night in Golden Gai
Departs: Tokyo
On this tour, explore two of the most famous places to eat and drink in Shinjuku with your knowledgeable guide. First visit Omoide Yokocho or 'Memory Lane', with its numerous small restaurants, many of whom have been trading for over 50 years and where you can taste delicious local delicacies such as grilled skewers, gyoza and yakisoba. Then head to Golden Gai, a maze of 6 streets tucked away between the skyscrapers which is lined with over 300 tiny bars and eateries. Accommodating just 5 or 6 customers at a time, each has a unique theme (ranging from 1970s disco to French Baroque!) and a welcoming, often quirky, owner who will keep you entertained during your visit. Please note the legal drinking age in Japan is 20.
