Camp Xakanaxa

This lodge was one of the best places that I have ever stayed in. From the second you arrived you are welcomed by all the staff outside the lodge singing and dancing for your arrival so before you have even stepped out of the car you know this is going to be a stay of a lifetime.

The rooms are luxury tented rooms which are very big with a huge bathroom and terrace overlooking the river. They also have a 2 bedroom family room for families of 4 or 5. The lodge also have a bar where you can help yourself to the drinks (beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks etc) and the food was amazing. Lunch is buffet style and tends to be light stuff life quiche, salads, bakes, fruits, breads etc, while dinner is 3 courses (starter and desert served to table and main course is buffet style with meats, sides, and vegetarian options available.

The wildlife in this area is amazing seeing a pride of lions with 8 cubs, elephants, hippos etc. The lodge also has a resident Hippo called Oscar that roams around camp so you will often see him walking around in and out of the river in front of the lodge.

The staff were the friendliest people I have ever met. If I had to only go back to Camp Xakanaka for all my future trips I would be happy as I do not think anyone could ever get bored or have a bad thing to say about the place or the people.
