Nxamaseri Island Lodge, Okavango Delta

Nestled on a private island in the Okavango Panhandle, embrace the slower pace of life, meander along the winding waterways, and soak up the local culture with a stay at the delightful and secluded Nxamaseri Island Lodge, a lodge which wonderfully compliments a more traditional big-game viewing safari. Activities focus on boat and mokoro trips, bird-watching (best Sep-Feb), fishing (best Mar-Dec), guided walks and excursions to spiritual Tsodilo Hills’ ancient San rock paintings. The lodge’s open-sided main area has a lounge and dining area which leads down to a fire pit, a perfect spot to relax by as dusk falls. In between activities, enjoy a dip in the pool or a treatment at the tranquil spa. Raised on wooden platforms, the thatched chalets (fan only) are cosy and comfortable featuring earthy décor, locally handcrafted furniture and artwork as well as a private deck.
