Alaska Cruises
Cruise
Each cruise line offers a different experience but all guarantee an up-close view of Alaska; America's last frontier. Towering glaciers, vast forest and jagged mountains dot the magnificent landscape of the Inside Passage while towns such as Skagway are a great calling point for a raft of exciting excursions.
The best time to cruise in Alaska is from May to September when you may be lucky enough to spot migrating whales and other marine life including dolphins and seals. Onshore, keep a close eye out for bears, caribou, eagles and more as Alaska's lush environment is home to an incredibly rich array of wildlife.
Most Alaska cruises sail from Vancouver and Trailfinders can easily arrange a tailored Western Canada itinerary in combination with your cruise. You may choose to add on a fly drive itinerary, an escorted coach tour or the famous Rocky Mountaineer train. As nobody in the UK organises more holidays to Alaska and Canada than Trailfinders, you couldn't be in safer hands.
If you'd prefer to cruise to Alaska from Seattle then why not add on a city break or a fly drive holiday of the beautiful Pacific Northwest region? Our expert cruise consultants can offer their advice and tailor your Alaska cruise holiday to your exact requirements.
Trailfinders work with all of the world's top cruise lines in Alaska, including Celebrity Cruises, Holland America Line, Silversea and many others. For more information on what to expect on an Alaska cruise holiday, take a look at our Guide to Cruising in Alaska blog post.

Awe-inspiring Glaciers
Alaska’s remarkable scenery is epitomised by mind-blowing glaciers, majestic mountains and stunning fjords which you can admire from the comfort of your ship as you cruise the famed Inside Passage. Most Alaska cruises will visit either Glacier Bay National Park or Hubbard Glacier.
Glacier Bay National Park is a 3.3 million acre treasure of natural wonders whilst the gigantic wall of ice that comprises Hubbard Glacier measures a staggering 5 miles wide and 40 stories high.
Step Ashore
Some of the best Alaska experiences are accessed from charming towns along the Inside Passage. From Skagway you can experience the White Pass Scenic Railway which re-traces the original route of the gold rushers passing gorgeous scenery en route.
From Ketchikan admire the icy blue lakes, snow-capped peaks and glacial lakes of the jaw-dropping Misty Fjord National Monument and for the ultimate Alaska adventure head out into the wilderness by dog sled from Juneau.
Incredible Wildlife
An Alaska cruise offers the best opportunity to spot some of the areas notorious wildlife. On land, grizzly, brown and black bears are often sighted, especially around the salmon spawning rivers while huge elk and moose graze in shallow waters.
At sea, humpback whales frequently appear close to tour boats and you may even spot a pod of orcas. In the air, the majestic bald eagle can be found nesting in trees near Alaska’s coastline.
